Happ restaurant review

Happ is located on 2 rue Henri VII just up from the Utopia cinema in Limpertsberg. The menu is based on the "raw diet" philosophy using ingredients that include molecules to combat lifestyle diseases. The lunch menu changes daily and usually consists of a homemade nutritious soup, a main course and a choice of Happ Salad or Pizza - their facebook page lists the daily choices.

One of the things I most love about Happ is their use of colour in all the dishes they serve. Forget boring green limpy salads; at Happ they use a plethora of fresh ingredients to make the salads both easy on the eye and scintillating on the taste buds. Salads here consist of crisp Mesclun and roquette, fresh figs, raspberries and mango's (to name just a few of the ingredients.) And for Non-Vegans and Vegetarians, there is also the option to add chicken - not that you need it.

I'm a self confessed "Soup addict" and the Soup's at Happ never disappoint! How about; Red pepper and tomato soup with baked aubergine or Red Lentil - coconut soup with coriander and homemade bread? A note to my fellow Vegans, Happ bread, although yummy, is made with organic yogurt so you may want to skip it or ask for an alternative.

Main courses at Happ also change daily and can be anything from Chilli sin carne to Thai fishcakes or Nut roast - see their website below for more details.

If you are a "juicer" Happ is definitely somewhere you want to add to your "places to visit list." Here they make the most amazing fresh juices which can pep you up after a sluggish morning at work or aid digestion after a healthy, nutritious lunch.

Happ is the brain child of an Icelandic foodie and the staff , from what I've experienced so far, all   hail from this beautiful Scandinavian island. They are friendly and helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble (even searching out some Soya milk for me on a busy week day lunch time!)

Happ is open week days between 8.30am - 14.30pm.
